The National Hockey Centre’s Carter Field is the premier pitch in the ACT, having hosted the International Champions Trophy, World Cup Events, Hockey One Finals, and is home to our much-loved Canberra Chill.

The field is entering its ninth season, having hosted 10,000 junior and senior community matches and more than 10,000 hours of community training and other sporting activities. The field now has signs of heavy wear and in urgent need of repair. It will cost over $1.5 million to replace the Carter Field Carpet and to maintain its international standard.

If the Carter Field is not repaired as soon as possible, Canberra risks losing the field from 2026.
