Below is a list of successful grants in the 2019/20 round of Volunteer Grants funding for volunteer organisations in Canberra that I was pleased to have been able to assist with their applications.

Provide discounted-cost and sponsored places in ArtSound radio craft training courses for Canberrans interested in community radio, as well as host orientation-to-station sessions for new volunteers.

ACT Table Tennis Association Inc

Funding will support ACT Table Tennis run courses in the ACT that require involvement of inter-state coaches, who have the required skills and qualifications.

Canberra Railway Museum

Purchase Ride on Lawn mower for our volunteers to use in maintaining our 4 ha Museum site

Girl Guides ACT

Purchase cooling equipment, fuel cards, fund first aid training, buy new first aid equipment, new gardening tools and purchase new portable tables.

Hawker Men's Shed

Purchase basic tools, work benches, cutting and drilling machines. Subsequent training to handle these tools.

Molonglo Conservation Group

New volunteer database system, subsequent training for 5 volunteers to manage this database.

Oz Harvest

Upgrade two mobile phones to help service volunteers and divers. Mobile provide real time information on where, when and how much food is collected.

Training of volunteers (with Volunteering ACT) Portable PA system, integrated card reader and printer, new membership management software including assistance to install and configure computer notebook for a volunteer coordinator.

Purchase of coffee machine and grinder for volunteers, homeless service events and firefighters.
